The three principal things that the interview board wants to find out about you are :
*    Will you fit in ?
*    Are you competent enough to handle the job ?
*    At what cost will you be available to the company ?


The focus during the interview rests chiefly on the first two questions . The members normally adopt two measures in this regard to assess you .

The First Measure :
The board attempts to size you up on the basis of :
·        Physical appearance
·        Communication skills
·        General Intelligence
·        Past accomplishments
·        Special aptitudes
·        Basic nature and Interpersonal skills .

The Second Measure :
The members ask various questions to gather information about you to answer queries in their mind about your suitability and about your capabilities to handle the job competently .
One can also expect some difficult questions in an interview , like :
§        What are your Strengths / Weaknesses ?
§        How long do you propose to stay with our company ?
§        Why are you interested in this particular job ?
§        Why do you want to join our company ?
§        Where do you want to see yourself five years from now ?
§        What would you like / hate most in a job ?
§        How much salary are you expecting ?
§        Why should we select you ?

Once you know how the interview board is going to measure you , you can prepare and develop yourself to make a good impact on them . Know what kind of person you are , what are your strengths , skills and special abilities , and how can you prove to be useful to your employer . Find out as much as possible about the company and the tasks that you will have to handle in the job that you have applied for , and also how can they help you in the development of your career . With a systematic preparation , you will be able to perform very well in the interview .
